Series of Incidents
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.
This most recent event comes after other notable incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a explosive hidden on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a Ukrainian source in the past linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are not officially confirmed as a matter of standard practice.
The conflict has been marked by shadowy operations extending into the heart of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
