Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack left him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
