The detonation happened on Friday night at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where blast substances seized from Faridabad region in the northern territory of Haryana were being stored temporarily.
Regional law enforcement head declared that the detonation substances were awaiting technical investigation when a "extremely tragic" accident during management led to their blast at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

The bulk of the casualties were law enforcement personnel, along with forensic personnel, two evidence documentation specialists, and a tailor who was accompanying the group.
