Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
