Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
