Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait the full month. A free-to-play trial experience will release on Jan. 7, providing a substantial taste into the game's opening hours. Critically, all save data achieved within this demo is eligible to be transferred directly into the full game upon its subsequent debut.

Beyond Just a Straightforward Re-release: The Complete Reimagining

This title is a comprehensive reimagining of the landmark 2000 RPG, originally titled Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a notable departure from recent series remakes, such as the previously released HD-2D versions, this version adopts a striking three-dimensional visual presentation. The world have been crafted to evoke detailed model sets, with protagonists having a whimsical chibi-esque design.

"Considering the previous remake, the main quest was still exceptionally long. Consequently, the team reached a determination that we wanted to condense the story, [and] craft an adventure for today's gamers."

Key Gameplay Changes & Modernizations

The development team have added a host of changes to streamline the classic experience. Among these are:

• Streamlined Overworld Battles: Similar to contemporary role-playing games, weaker monsters can now be defeated directly on the field eliminating the need for initiating a separate traditional combat sequence.
• Variable Combat Speed: Gamers have the option to speed up battle sequences to rapidly power through easier fights.
• New Job Mechanics: A completely new job class was introduced for this remake. Furthermore, characters now have the capacity to master a secondary job, significantly expanding strategic possibilities.

These alterations seek to mitigate one of the 2000 game's common points of feedback: its daunting scope. The initial storyline was known to require more than 100 hours to finish. The new edition has been expressly designed to improve progression and reduce any repetition.
