Following the triumph of the hit anime Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, which grossed over $600 million globally, the new movie Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has officially crossed the $100M milestone globally, hitting a worldwide gross of $108 million during its debut. This movie beat out the thriller Black Phone 2 ($12.9M) in its second weekend in cinemas, as well as Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere starring the talented Jeremy Allen White (nine million dollars).

Promotional Efforts Fuel Box Office Dominance

The studio and its partner Crunchyroll have skillfully used community involvement to drive their supremacy at the animated movie market. The Reze Arc marketing campaign began at the Anime Expo in LA in July with a discussion featuring MAPPA, exclusive activations, and Pochita photo ops, then continued with a significant involvement at the New York Comic Con featuring never-before-seen content, fan raffles, and further MAPPA discussions. Additionally, there was an exclusive fan screening for general audiences and popular figures too after the last day of the gathering.

Future Prospects

This year marks a big year for animated films, and for the company, which has an additional feature-length anime premiering this year in Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in late this year.
